The VFW Post 8971 and Auxiliary members took part in a Patriot Day ceremony in Eunice, La. District 7 Quartermaster Terry Matte gave a short speech along with District 7 Commander Gene Young and Post Chaplain Kenny Manuel.  The members that participated were Donald Estillette, David Crader, Roy Olivier, Kenny Manuel, Moe Matte, Terry Matte, Linda Thibodeaux, Roger Veillon, Gloria Olivier, Gene Olivier, Brenda Macri, Alvin Wilson, Bernita Briscoe, Jeanne Rougeau, Harold "New York" Johnson, Brenda Daigle, Glenda, Bergeron, and Leeland Lavergne.
