Vial Miller passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the age of 86. A
memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 3:30 PM at
Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM
on Thursday, May 9, 2019 until time of service.
Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate.
John
served his country during the Korean Conflict with the United States
Navy from 1950 to 1954. He performed his basic training in San Diego,
CA. John was the recipient of the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National
Defense Service Metal, Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars,
United Nations Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Republic of Korea
War Service Medal and the Foreign Award - Republic of Korea Presidential
Unit Citation. He served on board the USS Bonhomme Richard CVA-31, the
USS Valley Forge and the USS Bering Strait.
John is survived by one
son; Jonathon Miller and wife Shannon, one sister: Genora Fontenot, five
grandchildren; Connor Luke Miller, Amy Claire Miller, Jon Ross Miller,
Anna Katherine Miller, Amber Nicole Boulet, one great grandchild; Teagan
Boulet.
John was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and
Amant Miller, his wife; Anna Fontenot Miller, one daughter; Tammy
Miller, two brothers; Mayon Miller, LeRoy Miller, two sisters; Beaulah
Rougeau, Edna Miller.
